Chester DuPont, Sr. is one of my all time favorite people. I have created this blog for him so that he can share his vast library of photos with the rest of the world. I am proud to be his son-in-law. Here he is at his grand-daughter's wedding, with his wonderful wife Dot.

Steve- I wanted to thank you for creating this blog. To say I was surprised would be a gross understatement. I was truly humbled to find that you would take the time to create a blog about me! Hey... wait a minute... what's my Dad's picture doing here??? Oh...er... I guess this wansn't "all abot me" after all! :-(

In all seriousness I think this is a great idea. I actually like Chet Sr. a bit myself! :-)
The idea of posting old photos that Dad took on this blog is a great one!
Some of my earliest and fondest childhood memories are of Dad and his camera. I remember the old Grafix, (sp?) camera vividly. The blue Sylvania single use flash bulbs that came in a package like a dozen eggs!
Dad- what was the name of the old photo place you used to go into on Eagle Street? Wasn't it The Photo Shop or something like that?
Another related memory is of Dad's darkroom. I may be wrong but those memories may even go back to our house on High Street? Seeing the photos drying while hanging off the string. Being amazed at how a negative when put into the developer (?) machine made a picture appear on the blank paper below after giving it a chemical bath!
Then there were the memories of the smell...no not the after effect of the franks and beans dinner! :-) I'm talking about the smell of the chemicals that came in brown glass bottles that were used to develope pictures. Funny how something like a smell can be a memory...
Anyway- that's a start about Chet Sr. aka my Dad... a man who was/is a great photographer...and a grat husband...and most of all to me a great Dad!
